Monopoly GO's dice multiplier looks like a tiny button, but it's the bit that quietly wrecks a dice stash when you're not paying attention. I treat it the same way I treat during album season: useful, tempting, and not something to burn without a plan.
Start low before you get greedy
You'll quickly find out that x1 isn't boring. It's your steering wheel. Use it when you're drifting around the board, checking distances, or waiting for a decent target to come into range. Once the board starts showing value, x3 and x5 feel much better for normal play. They keep progress moving without making every bad roll feel like you've dropped your phone down a drain.
    Basic multiplier habits
    1. Use x1 when nothing good is close.
    2. Use x3 to x5 for steady daily grinding.
When bigger rolls actually make sense
High multipliers are fun, no one's denying that. The problem is that fun gets expensive fast. If a tournament is live, railroads are paying, or a main event tile is sitting within reach, then pushing higher can be worth it. If you're just rolling because you're bored, don't. That's how people go from 4,000 dice to asking their group chat what happened. x50, x100, and High Roller levels should feel like a timed move, not your default setting.
The distance check players keep using
Before you hit the shiny button, count the tiles. Seriously, slow down for two seconds. The sweet spot most players watch for is six, seven, or eight tiles away from a target, because those results show up more often with two dice. It's still luck, yeah. But it's not blind luck. If you're four tiles away from a weak cash tile, stay calm. If you're seven from a railroad during a tournament, that's when the room gets interesting.
Quick multiplier tableThis is the kind of rough guide I'd actually keep in my head while playing, not some perfect spreadsheet fantasy.

Event rolls need a different brain
    1. Partner events reward steady x5 pressure.
    2. Peg E usually feels better around x10.
    Keep your dice stash alive
The biggest mistake isn't choosing the wrong number once. It's rolling high over and over with no target, no event window, and no backup dice. I've done it. Most players have. A better habit is simple: crawl on weak boards, push when the tile math makes sense, then back off before the game baits you into one more roll.
